Dear Friends of the Community,
Every strong organization has a “why”. Our “why” has been very clear from the start. It was about building a network of professionals with quality, gathering action-driven people with the right priorities, values and heart for the community.
Here’s our story.
BEGINNINGS
Our beginnings were humble. Like many comfortable business owners, I networked for many years looking for a good group with strong leadership in various civic groups and chambers of commerce. Being a busy business owner, it would have been a lot easier to plug into my ideal group but I found there was a lack of an AIB2B out there.
I did find some organizations with a heart for their mission and others that ran tight operations, but it was rare that I would find both. Even if I did, I felt their projects weren’t inclined to my diverse interests. This is why I started AIB2B.
WHO WE ARE
Asian Industry B2B (AIB2B) started out as a simple networking group, with no grander vision than just to gather people once a month. And that we did, with huge numbers.
As we grew, we aligned with important causes to society such as human trafficking awareness, business advocacy, health and wellness and quality education choices. From humble beginnings in each interest area, we grew organically with a lot of initial key players staying on until today.
Today, AIB2B is a tight knit fellowship of charitably minded and socially conscious business owners in Southern California. A common thread binds us together: our strong faith in God and our action-oriented nature, culminating in successful events and meaningful ventures.
Our mission continues to be to build a tight membership of quality professionals, and to foster meaningful collaborations, centered around positive group activities and to truly impact society with our values in action.
We engage our membership in cultural, political, educational, business and charitable initiatives, enriching business owners’ lives and elevating Asian businesses in the overall society.
LEADERSHIP
Every member of leadership truly lives the mission of promoting Asian American and conservative values, in varied sectors and interest areas as varied as fair representation in media, political involvement and charitable endeavors.
We are also connected by a common thread of gratitude and humility, living by Luke 16:10. “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”
EVENTS
AIB2B was initially known for its many successful monthly events, drawing from 50 to 200 people an event (it started as just a monthly gathering every 2nd Wednesday), providing free food, great speakers and networking opportunities. This eventually evolved into huge events now drawing in hundreds or even thousands (in the case of our Expo), bringing vast communities together and cross pollinating key interest groups, with a common thread of conservative values.
We strive to maintain excellence in our event execution and continuously grow in our social outreach, building capacity and sustainability, and community engagement. Our sponsors, members, and preferred partners steer our programming as we entrust the vision of community impact to vetted individuals and institutions who care deeply about the communities and the causes we champion. This type of “open source” collaboration is rare and we are proud to consistently deliver on this.
GROWTH
We have seen these efforts take our businesses to the next level, as we have built relationship-centric partnerships that help our businesses, and most importantly, enrich our lives in the process, and have connected like-minded institutions to create a fraternity filtered for quality.
At AIB2B, we continue to focus on attracting and nurturing the right kind of individuals and professionals. Those who care about societal impact and charity. That is first and foremost. We do not tolerate “sales monsters” and our meetings are not about selling – they are about educating and enriching our minds and lives.
Growth can only come when there is a strong core and dedicated action supporting a strong, solid mission. AIB2B has proven this. Quality is a key pillar of this organization so we vet our partners carefully and filter accordingly. Many people can talk the talk, but walking the walk is proven through time. That has taken leadership and tough decisions along the way, but our results speak for themselves.
2020
Over the next years, AIB2B grew in its impact, as we were able to play a key part in defeating the racist racial preferences introduced in California as Proposition 16. Despite an organization who we initially helped start up claiming to be the official group, AIB2B played as a key leader to unite many separate grassroots efforts who felt controlled and hindered by this group. AIB2B encouraged partnerships and productivity, and ultimately with the smart handling of money, financial and human resources, Prop 16 went down in defeat, a win for meritocracy. It lost by 14 points in the very liberal California. AIB2B organized many local rallies in Irvine, Walnut and was covered by national outlets like Washington Post, Asian Journal and many more. In addition, we held the Walnut Family Fair, which got national coverage due to our stand against a county department trying to shut down our event. A Supreme Court decision would come down soon after this citation, which was covered by all local outlets and national ones such as Breitbart.
2021
2021 was a pivotal year where a new administration came in, and suddenly a huge spike in anti Asian racist attacks came about. Our organization did not join the victimhood but instead used the national environment to continue important national conversations through our Coalition For Law Order and Equality (CFLOE – cfloe.org). Our organization presented tangible solutions such as encouraging self defense, honest raw conversations about racism and working together as a community to protect our citizens in a tangible way. Our work was featured on New York Times, Wall Street Journal, RedState, Los Angeles Times and many other outlets.
I am honored to serve alongside my brothers and sisters on the board, Antao Chien, Joy Chen, Lany Indrawati, Pete Amundson and Sherill Franklin.
Serving our community,
